• Test card: The door lock didn’t register after installed, test card can unlock door for test if the lock install right way . after the locks authorized, the test card can’t unlock any more .  only the lock be setting to factory model can it can unlock again .
• Authorized card:  It use for software installation and authorization, and can  open the door lock which didn’t authorized .
• Room installation card: used to set basic information such as room number. Applicable for all door locks in the system. Room installation card can be recycled after used .
• Time setup card: use to set and calibrate the door lock clock. The time card can use alone and can be recycled to use for room card after used .
• Channel card: used to set the channel function of the door lock, generally used in meeting rooms or some public areas.
• Guest card:  guest card for unlock the defined room. Can choose if unlock the door in deadbolt or can’t when program it .  it use for hotel guest or the corresponding personnel.
• Master card: Can open all door locks in the system, and lock in deadbolt can unlock too . The master card generally held by the general manager of the hotel
• Floor card: all door locks on the certain floor can be opened, and can’t unlock  when the door locks in deadbolt status . The floor card is generally kept and used by the floor attendant or the corresponding personnel.
• Building card: can open all door locks of the certain building.
• Emergency card: All door locks in the system can be opened in an emergency state, even when the door locks are deadbolt. When the door lock is opened by the emergency card, the door lock remains unlock until any other valid room card read it . Emergency cards are generally kept by the security department or the fire department.

1. Drill hole on the door according to the drill hole template we offered

a .Confirm the suitable datum line on the door

b. Print out the line use the template

c. Drill hole use tool

2. Install Mortise lock

Step:      a. Put mortise lock in the drilled hole door ,and fasten it use screw

b. Install the slidingplate and fasten it by screw .

3. Install front and back lock parts

a. Connect the right port , and put the big square and fasten the back lock on the inner door side .

b.Put big square and small square ,fasten the back and front lock part use 4 pcs long screws

c. Connect the battery box port and pcb port ,Fasten the battery box on the back lock part

4. Drill hole on the lock frame according to the template

5. Fasten the gusset plate  and buckle box

6. Install finish , after installed ,need test the lock by read the test card

a. Check all parts had fasten

b. Pull and push the door to check if can open and close right way .

c.  Use mechanical key to check it can work smoothly

d. Then can setup the software.

The door have pull door and push door , we can check the hinge install on left door or right door .Then can identify it’s handle .

Hotel door lock system is so important for the hotel , it will affect the guest’s experience directly . 

Hotel door lock system consists of hotel door lock and system , hotel door lock is hardware , and the system is software with accessories .   

Hotel door lock is the core part for the system ,which is electronic door lock,usually adopting RFID or magnetic technology or bluetooth technology, and other parts work with the hotel door lock , including card encoder , cards, PC running software and energy saving switch , elevator control system (some hotel door lock system included handing set as well) .

Usually , the hotel door lock system has 6 steps in the working process .  

Step 1. Issue the room card from the frontdesk 

When you enter the hotel , the frontdesk issues a room card with valid time from the hotel door lock software, then you can hold this room card to the room. 

Step 2. Swipe the room card on the hotel door lock. 

The hotel door locks in standby status when it doesn’t work , this status will make the lock in power saving and low consumption mode .  when you swipe the room card on the hotel door lock, it will enter the working mode . 

Step 3. Verify the room card key 

There is a CPU (we called PCB as well ) in each hotel door lock , 

Hotel door locks will normally keep on standby mode when there is no body use.

The standby mode is a power saving mode that helps the lock running in a low power consume way.  

Only when the hotel room key is swiped on the door lock , the PCB gets single from the card , it will be active the working status . 

Step 4.Verify the key

Hotel door lock PCB (mainboard) has a CPU inside.

When the CPU gets the data information of the room card from the lock PCB,  it will check the room card data information if it is correct or not . 

 There are 3 steps to verify the data information.

a. First step verify the hotel door lock system if matched .

 There are many types and card chip room cards are encrypted with different systems ,so this step is the basic verification .

b. Second step: verify the room number matched the room or not . 

The first verify is correct ,  the system and the room card encrypted are the same,  then verify the room card number if matched the door room number , if they are matched , the door will unlock .

c. Third step: verify room card valid time. 

 The room card with information of room number as well as valid time in it . When they verify the right room number, they will check if the room cards are still in the valid time  , if the time expires , the door will can’t unlock , if verified in the valide time, the lock can be unlocked . 

These 3 step verifications usually take about within 1s. 

d. Motor and Clutch be acting 

Once the room key is verified correctly through the above 3 steps, the CPU will give a command for the motor and clutch to start work .

The clutch will engage the hotel door locks’s handle. At the same time the lock will make some music and bluelight to notice reading information past and unlock success .

Step 5. Press Handle by handle to unlock .

You can press the hotel door lock’s handle when you hear the music and watch the LED light, the lock latch will be derived , the door will be open. 

Step 6. Motor and clutch motor acting reversely.

The motor will work again but in the reversed direction aim to release the engagement.

Then the handle will not be able to drive the lock latch. 

This work makes the hotel door lock can’t be unlocked after a little time , this time usually being 7s.  

RFID hotel door locks can be made of different materials, they are usually Titanium-Aluminium by CNC ,zinc alloy , stainless steel, 304 stainless steel, copper, iron and steel etc .

• Zinc alloy material hotel door locks are widely used as well. its strength and anti-rust ability .And they can make complex patterns designed compared TI-AL and stainless steel material ,especially pressure casting. Most complex patterns seen in the market of the hotel lock are able to be made by zinc alloy .
• The 304 stainless steel hotel door lock is durable and harder to fade than other materials . And it’s surface after a long time of using it can keep shining as before . And it has strong strength and corrosion resistance, the color unchanged. It’s the best choice for a seaside and humidity hotel . 

• Iron and steel made hotel door locks have better strength and can reduce much the cost , but are easy to rust . so these materials are usually used for the internal structure of the lock , and can’t be used for external parts . 
• Copper is of little use for lock material now for it’s high cost . While they are popular before for they are good performance at mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and processing performance, and they have a shining color, especially make in forged copper handle and other decorative pieces of the lock, their surface is formation, density, but with no stomata and trachoma, with solid and rust-proof ,and can be used to plated 24K gold or gold and other surface treatment, can bring a lot of color to your homes. 

In general, the hotel door lock card chip adopts T5577 or Mifare 1 type .  They are different at function of the difference:

T5577 card chip: T5577 card module using US Atmel encryption card, reading frequency is 125KHZ, can encrypt the amount of data for 32 bits, with a 4-bit ID number, with a wake-up response function, can read and write information have stable and reliable performance, ID number global security performance is high. And easy to operate, just contact the card with the contact area of the door lock, it can be opened . 

Mifare-1 card chip: using the Netherlands PHILIPS encryption card, based on the 13.56MHZ frequency series of card reading module, it conforms to the ISO14443 standard, ultra-small, ultra-large-scale integrated circuit package, ID number global, high security. Card has 16 partitions, each partition has an independent password, each partition to achieve independent functions, can expand one card to door lock, parking, consumption, attendance etc functions .

Some users like to start opening holes when they do not get the hotel door lock, or open holes according to the hole diagram. As a manufacturer of hotel door locks, YonAnn suggests that it is not too late to open the hole when you get the lock in hand, because the physical debugging side can open a better installation hole, and some doors have some differences in shape. The drawing theory is possible, but the details still need to be in kind.

Step 1 : Preparation

Confirm the condition of the door lock: confirm that the site installation conditions are in line with the requirements of the installation.

For example: if there is a power supply for the hotel door lock,if  there is a dedicated manager. the renovation is completed, etc.

Center distance confirmation: there are two kinds of center distance: 55mm, 70mm

Note: The center distance is the center distance from the door frame to the handle rotation axis .

Door lock thickness: door lock thickness requirements in: 38mm-55mm special requirements in accordance with special requirements. (The thickness of the door lock is different, requiring the lock core, lock fixing screw length and punching requirements are different, the order should be explained to the manufacturer.)

Door lock left, right open confirmation: hotel door lock needs to identify left handle and right handle.  

Left open door lock definition: people standing outside the door, the door opens inward, the hinge on the left, for the left door.

Right-opening door lock definition: the same as above, the hinge on the right, for the right door.

Step 2:  The installation of the door lock ,Draw opening lines: According to the drill hole diagram divided into the front, back and side of the door drawing lines. (See specific drawings for specific opening diagrams)

Draw door front opening line: determine the height of the door lock installation, the height of the handle position 90CM from the bottom of the door, (for old door conversion, the old door shall prevail) in accordance with the perforation drawing to draw the perforated lines.

Draw the back of the door opening line: the same method as above to draw lines on the back of the door.

Draw door side opening line: first draw the door side center, according to the perforation with the draw door side opening line.

Draw the door frame opening line: must be installed after the lock core, according to the corresponding position of the lock core and then open the door frame opening line (as required by the opening diagram) The door frame opening must pay attention to the height of the corresponding lock core

Step 3: Drill hole 

• Drill the front side and back side holes according to the drawn opening line.

Note: When drilling the holes, you should prevent the wood fibers from producing flying edges (it is better to cut the fibers along the opening line with a cutter first) to prevent the hole from being oversized.

• According to the drawing of the hole line to drill the side holes.

Note: side latch hole is one of the key drilled holes, must be careful to drill it to prevent fiber flying edge to stop the hole bias, rough phenomenon.

• After drilling the hole with a lock core installed to check that if it’s inappropriate, it should be amended accordingly.Drill frame door hole according to the drawn opening line.

Note: The hole size of the door frame is high, it should prevent a false position that results in the shaking of the hotel door lock.

Step 4 : Install the door lock

After opening the box, first check whether the door lock parts are complete and the handle direction is consistent with the room doors, using the battery to test if the lock can work normally , all checks going well can start to install the hotel door lock . 

• Installing the mortise lock : Install the mortise lock into the door side, the wire port into the inner side panel, all fixed holes meet the requirements.
• Install the mechanical lock: install the mechanical lock into the mortise lock and fix it with screws, check whether the mechanical key can open the door.
• Install the front lock panel: adjust the mechanical lock idle quadrangular sleeve to the correct position (quadrangular sleeve bore a logo to put the square shaft and spring), the front lock body into the door plate.

Note: when installed need to be carefully can’t damage the PCB and make the connect wire port loosen .

• Install the rear lock panel: the same install as front lock panel, after the installation of the lock body, fasten on the set screws.

Note box in the corresponding position, connect the wire plug and try to unlock the door withe test card .  

• Install the side fixing plate: according to the installed mechanical lock to punch the door frame hole, install the plastic box and side fixing plate.

Note the adjustment of the position. 

• Swipe the test card to unlock and configure the door lock: swipe the test card and use a mechanical key to check if the lock can be opened by them . : Before installation and after installation, the front and back lock panel should be maintained parallel to the door, and can’t be skewed to adjust the distance between the left and right, so that the handle and the horizontal direction of the mechanical lock remain the same. Adjust the distance up and down so that the handle is consistent with the vertical direction of the mechanical lock.
• Install the battery box: Install the battery and battery

Step 5:  Diagram Guide

Step 6: Hotel door lock inspection and installation process to eliminate common problems

• The hotel door lock installation normal combination of oblique tongue, oblique tongue should spring free. Square tongue should be able to smoothly extend. Mechanical key can open the door normally. 
• The hotel door lock finished installing common problems.

A. The combination oblique tongue can not be fully extended, the solution be:

(1) Adjust the latch trigger (up, down, left, right adjustment), and oblique tongue, square tongue squarely, so that the oblique tongue can be smoothly retracted.

(2)  See if the side plate is not installed properly to stop the oblique tongue working out. 

(3)  When drilling a hotel lock hole, the active parts for combinated oblique tongue in the mechanical key are too narrow, making the combination of the oblique tongue stuck.

Solution: Widenth the active parts of the combination of slant tongue .

B. Press the handle hotel door lock inside and outside are able to open the door without a swipe card .

The reason: Some of the door locks during production the mechanical lock set as channel function. Temporarily do not need to solven, after debugging the lock can return to normal.

• The door lock is installed, if you need to temporarily use the card to open the door. Operation:

 A. Installed 4 pcs AA alkaline battery into the hotel lock .

B.  With the test card which we had offered with the hotel lock to swipe on the lock, when blue light flashes with a beep”di” .  

C.   Turn handle and unlock the door .

• After the installation of the locks and the hotel put into use, you should issue a authorized card from the hotel door lock software  and swipe it on all hotel locks with a blue light flash and a “beep” sound . After all hotel locks are authorized , the test card will be invalid can’t work in future .

Accordingly, when the hotel door lock problems arise, troubleshooting is not a problem anymore.

The following are the tips on how to troubleshoot the hotel lock door in your premises:

Hotel door lock failure No. 1

After opening the door using the smart door lock and noticed that it has no sound, the light is off and the motor is not running. The possible reason is insufficient battery.

Problem Analysis: It may be that the hotel door lock is not installed correctly, the wiring is not connected properly or the front panel of the induction is broken;

Troubleshooting:

1. Replace the battery with the same model.
2. Determine the problem in the circuit board. Then find a supplier to provide a new circuit board then replace.

Hotel door lock failure No. 2

Green Light is on when the door is open but there is no sound and the motor is silent. If this occurs, the batter is low and the sensor panel is broken.

Problem Analysis: The possible reason is the lock cylinder motor is broken, the wiring connection is not properly connected, and the software operation is incorrect when the card is made.

Troubleshooting

1. Replace the battery with the same model. Try to open the door to test its activity. If it’s not working, check the connection line. If you find a problem in the connection line, replace the sensor panel or lock cylinder.
2. When you try all the listed methods, the problem is still not fixed. The problem might be in the operation. Try to read the manual and operate correctly.

Hotel door lock failure No. 3

 Green light flashing and motor sound when swiping the card for induction, but the door cannot be opened

Problem Analysis: This failure is usually that the iron bar between the front panel of the smart lock and the lock cylinder is not connected correctly, or the lock cylinder has been damaged.

 Troubleshooting

1. Open the smart lock panel and check. Change the lock body or disconnect the port that is not connected, reconnect it, and test again.

Hotel door lock failure No.4 

 When the buzzer emits a beep seven (7) times after swiping the guest card, master card, cleaning card, and etc.

Problem Analysis: It is caused by the inconsistency between the hotel lock time and the computer time;

 Solution

1. Reset the room number card for the hotel door lock, and then reset the management card and the new room number card;
2. Reissue the time card on the computer, and then go to the door lock to re-read the time card.
3. The card can be swiped on the door lock once when the school is issued.

Hotel door lock failure No. 5

If the guest card, master card, cleaning card and other cards are swiped, then the red light keeps flashing and the buzzer emits a beep six (6) times.

 Problem Analysis: Generally, the cards do not match the door lock room number.

Solution

 (1) Check if the guest card matches with the room number. Check whether the floor area of ​​the management card matches the door lock room number. Reissue the new room card on the computer, and then go to the door lock to re-read the time card.

Hotel door lock failure No. 6

When the guest card or master card is swiped, then the red light keeps flashing but the door cannot be opened and the buzzer emits a beep three (3) times.

Problem analysis: In this case, the guest locks the door in the room and does not want to be disturbed by others. Otherwise, there is a problem with the lock micro-control switch in the lock body.

Troubleshooting:

Reissue a new card that can open the locked room and or repair the locked micro-control switch (usually a new lock body)

When the door is tried to open using cards and if the door cannot be opened, don’t panic it is only a system failure. Find the hotel door lock failure to repair.

In the event, there is a hotel door lock failure, the problem here depends on the carefulness of the user and not on technology.

When the hotel locks supplier dispatch orders of hotel lock will always accompany the test card and authorized card (some ones need to be issued by the hotel from the hotel door lock software )  with the order.  What’s the test card and authorized card use for ? For test cards , they are always held by the construction workers and used . When the hotel is still under construction or decoration, the worker can hold this card to unlock the door .  Authorized card for the hotel side use , after the hotel finished decorating and put into use , the hotel operator needs to manage the hotel and program the hotel lock and hotel lock software , authorized card for registering the hotel lock software and program the hotel door locks to take the hotel room name and numbers into the lock . After the hotel is put into use , the hotel needs to swipe the authorized card on all hotel door locks to make sure the locks can’t be unlocked by test card any more to make sure the hotel security . That is , after the hotel lock swiped the authorized card, all locks  wouldn’t unlock by test card any more.
